Getting Started

It's easy to get started creating your website. Knowing some of the basics will help.

What is a Content Management System?

A content management system is software that allows you to create and manage webpages easily by separating the creation of your content from the mechanics required to present it on the web.

In this site, the content is stored in a database. The look and feel are created by a template. Joomla! brings together the template and your content to create web pages.

Logging in

To login to your site use the user name and password that were created as part of the installation process. Once logged-in you will be able to create and edit articles and modify some settings.

Creating an article

Once you are logged-in, a new menu will be visible. To create a new article, click on the "Submit Article" link on that menu.

The new article interface gives you a lot of options, but all you need to do is add a title and put something in the content area. To make it easy to find, set the state to published.

You can edit an existing article by clicking on the edit icon (this only displays to users who have the right to edit).

Template, site settings, and modules

The look and feel of your site is controlled by a template. You can change the site name, background colour, highlights colour and more by editing the template settings. Click the "Template Settings" in the user menu.

The boxes around the main content of the site are called modules. You can modify modules on the current page by moving your cursor to the module and clicking the edit link. Always be sure to save and close any module you edit.

You can change some site settings such as the site name and description by clicking on the "Site Settings" link.

More advanced options for templates, site settings, modules, and more are available in the site administrator.

Site and Administrator

Your site actually has two separate sites. The site (also called the front end) is what visitors to your site will see. The administrator (also called the back end) is only used by people managing your site. You can access the administrator by clicking the "Site Administrator" link on the "User Menu" menu (visible once you login) or by adding /administrator to the end of your domain name. The same user name and password are used for both sites.

Learn more

There is much more to learn about how to use Joomla! to create the web site you envision. You can learn much more at the Joomla! documentation site and on the Joomla! forums.

Came across this through a roundabout path and now it is on my regular rotation, and a stop at harborstonemerchantgallery sealed that decision, the open web still produces serendipitous discoveries when you let the citations and references guide you rather than relying purely on algorithmic feeds for new content recommendations always.

This filled in a gap in my understanding that I had not even noticed was there, and a stop at solarmeadowcommercegallery did the same, the kind of post that gives you more than you expected when you first clicked through from somewhere else, a real find for anyone curious about the area covered here.

Recommended to anyone working in or curious about this area, the depth and clarity combine well, and a look at royaltrendstation keeps that going across more pages, the kind of site that earns regular visits rather than chasing trends has my respect because it suggests genuine commitment to the topic itself rather than to chasing trends.

Honestly this kind of writing is why I still bother to read independent sites, and a look at shoprangestore extended that broader reflection, the few sites that justify continued attention to non algorithmic content are sites like this one and finding them periodically is enough to keep my reading habits oriented toward independent rather than aggregated content.

A piece that handled the topic with appropriate weight without becoming portentous, and a look at tealharborcommercegallery continued that calibrated seriousness, content that takes itself seriously without becoming pompous is something this site has clearly figured out and the balance shows up in every piece I have read across multiple sessions now.

Now sitting back and recognising that this was a small but real win in my reading day, and a stop at nexmuzo extended that quiet win, the cumulative effect of small reading wins versus the cumulative effect of small reading losses is real over time and this site is contributing to the wins side of that ledger.

Solid post, the structure is easy to follow and the language stays simple even when the topic gets a bit more involved, and a look at crowncovemerchantgallery kept that same standard going, so I left feeling like the time spent here was actually worth something for once which is rare lately.

If a friend asked me where to read carefully on the topic I would send them here without hesitation, and a look at driftorchardvendorparlor confirmed the recommendation strength, the directness of my recommendation reflects how confident I am in the quality and this site has earned undiluted recommendations from me across multiple recent conversations actually.

Just dropping by to say thanks for the effort, it does not go unnoticed when a writer cares this much about the reader, and after I went through alpinecovemarketparlor I was certain this is one of the better corners of the internet for this particular kind of content which is genuinely refreshing.

Really nice to see things explained without overcomplicating the topic, the words flow naturally and stay easy to follow, and a short visit to premiumgoodsstation only added to that experience because the same simple approach is used across the rest of the page too without any change in tone.
